Good friends make life better;)

I got to spend yesterday with amazing people. First, I got to wake up next to my best friend on the planet, who also just happens to be my husband. Then, Nina and Soli came for lunch and we just laughed and caught up for a few fun hours:) Next, I headed to AACC for President Smith's retirement party, which was very moving and special. There, I got to hang out with my amazing colleagues...who are way more than just co-workers....they are my people, my friends! After the party, I made my way to Baltimore to have dinner with Beth (and her sweet son, Gabe), Kat, Lindsay, and Leah. Having dinner and spening time with them was already going to be special enough...but then...to top it off.....they all were wearing "Moosestrong" bracelets...the ones from the article about my dad to support adrenal cancer. They had contacted the high school and my mom to order the bracelets to wear and support my family and everyone fighting adrenal cancer. With such a tough fight, having wonderful people in your corner, supporting you every day, makes ALL the difference. I love you all.

A Jack and Jill shower for Amy and Allen!

Amy and Allen are getting married on Mike's bday next month! It will be so much fun!! Yesterday, we all threw them a really fun shower in honor of their upcoming nuptuals! Congrats, you two!

Mom came for a visit!

I love when my mom visits! It was so nice to have her here this Saturday! We went to The Pink Cabbage and shopped, we went to the pool, had lunch at Panera, and just spent some good old fashioned mommy-daughter time together! Ralph came over for dinner and me, Mike, Ralph, and my mom had an Italian dinner I cooked! Fun times had by all;)

Hola, Mexico!

Jenna and I had the BEST time in Mexico. Cancun was gorgeous! We had a completely relaxing week. We went to the gym and got in good workouts, before sitting our lazy butts down at the pool or ocean-side, and soaking up the rays. We got a facial and went in the awesome jacuzzi and then we each got an hour long massage, outside, by the ocean...we felt like we were in the Sandals commercials. LOL. We went to Playa del Carmen, shopped, walked around, and went snorkeling in a total thunderstrom (which made it even cooler!). When we got to Florida, we also got to meet up with my dad and Lori. So fun! Overall, we had the best time, doing a bunch of nothing, relaxing, talking, and just enjoying our time together! Thanks, Jenna, for one of the greatest weeks! I love you so much!!

The Finkbones celebrate one year!!!

So, Mike and I just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary! What an awesome time we had! We went to OC, where it all went down, one year ago today... We are total dorks and completely relived the big day. I totally brought my wedding dress down to the ocean (who says you only get to wear it once!) and it actually still fit (barely) which was cool;) We ate some of the top layer of our wedding cake (tradition), drank from our toasting glasses (before Mike broke one...and that made me laugh so hard that I nearly passed out), looked through all of albums from our wedding, watched the wedding video, and gave each other gifts. I had journaled our first year of marriage for Mike, so we read through that...and Mike gave me a snapfish album he made of our first year of marriage...it was so awesome!!! And unexpected that he made me a gift!! Very cool and thoughtful!! We went to the beach, I got to surf with my new board, we went to the boardwalk (just to go to the photobooth for a sec to take some anniversary pics), we visited Seacrets...where we got married..and then celebrated with an amazing dinner at a place called Reflections. You can see from the pics that we liked it! Mikey liked it! I now know why they call it Reflections...there are mirrors everywhere...and yes..I walked right into one. Holy hilarity...but not at all surprising. One pic shows Mike digging fuzz out of his wine...he wouldn't be my husband if he didn't pick things out of his drinks. LOL We got home this evening and Mike had to leave to go to NJ to take my mom and dad to NY tomorrow to go to Sloan Kettering. My dad has metastatic adrenal cancer and has been through two rounds of chemo and a round of radiation. Tomorrow we get the results...letting us know if any of it worked to shrink the tumors. I am so grateful that Mike is there with them. He brings a smile to everyone's face and surely will do that for them tomorrow. Adam's in town!

I love my brother. He is one of my best friends. Mike and I drove back to Jersey this week to take dad to chemo, visit my family, and to laugh our butts off. Adam is one of the funniest people I know (next to our cousin Tracey, who also makes me pee in my pants). Therefore, when Adam visits, the laughter begins...laughter like from when we were little kids. Dad is doing well, positive as always, and loving every day. We all spent quality time together and THAT was the best early Mother's Day gift we ever could have given my mom. I loved every minute with three of my fav guys (dad, Ad, and of course, my Mikey). Mom, time with you is always amazing, too! I love you, family!!!!!!!!!!

A letter to my husband...

Dear Michael, I can't believe it has been a year already since I made one of the best decisions of my life and married you. Time does fly when you are having fun. This year has been quite the journey and we did it all together, coming out even stronger together as a pair. Just when I think I couldn't possible love you more, I find myself falling harder. You are my best friend, my rock, my partner in crime, my everything. I am so blessed to call you my husband and I cannot wait for every day that comes our way, because I get to call you mine. Happy (almost) one year anniversary, my love! May 14th!! xoxo

Dinner with PB!!

I LOVE my time with my boy, Paulbobb!! We met about eight years ago when we lived together in our Sea Isle shore house!! Not only was that an awesome summer, but I got one of the closest friends in my life from the deal...Paulbobb!! He is a good person, inside and out, and I love every minute I get to spend with him!! Thank you for s fun night, PB!! Next time, we will come to DC for Hamilton's!! I'll meet you there at 7:27 pm...LOL!!

We always have the best times with our country dinners! This time, we were at Boob and Nina's and we had our first "guests" join us for dinner...ever!! Nina's cousin (basically her sister) and her hubby (and baby boy) were visiting from Finland. We had an awesome time and everyone was dressed and ready to go!! Fun times, as always!!!
